Our Environmental Commitment
Henry Bath believes in treating the earth's resources with respect. We are committed to protecting and conserving the environment, and the health and safety of our employees, our customers and the diverse communities in which we operate. We also make it a priority to work together with customers, with our suppliers and with local authorities to protect our environment.
We continue to identify waste streams in our business that we can recycle, including:
- old hessian bags from storing cocoa & coffee beans are recycled to manufacture backing fabric in carpets
- broken steel strapping used to secure bundles of metals are recycled as steel scrap
From our international head office on the world-famous Liverpool waterfront, Henry Bath and Son Ltd has been putting environmental awareness at the forefront of our global operations. We continue to develop our Environmental Management System, continually building on our experience and sharing our learnt best practice worldwide across all of our operations.
Our Health and Safety Commitment
Our business involves the warehousing and movement of industrial metals and soft commodities on a large scale. This requires us to maintain the highest standards in health and safety practice to ensure the well being of our employees and the people who work along side us at all times. By continually re-assessing, managing and auditing our health & safety policy and training programs, and positively influencing those around us, we strive for a safer working environment.
Awards and Recognition
In January 2006, we first achieved the BS8555: Level 3 award standard for our Environmental Management Systems in Liverpool, in recognition of our achievements. We have successfully retained this award every year since then. Our accredited awareness of environmental issues covers the full range of our business activities including the warehousing of commodity products, shipping, transportation and office administration. Henry Bath were also runners up in the Groundwork Merseyside Environmental Awards 2008 in the category "Environmental Management Award - Private Sector".
